Dina Blade and Hans Brehmer. 2 vocalists, one piano, swinging the classics from the great American Songbook.

Dina Blade and Hans Brehmer: "My Funny Valentine"
A tribute to the great lyricists of the 1930's-40's

"My Funny Valentine" is a tribute to the lyricists of the Great
American Songbook, who wrote the timeless love songs that have been recorded
and performed by several generations of singers. This lively presentation
of familiar hits (including many verses) and obscure gems will feature the
superb craftsmanship of "masters of the colloquial phrase" like Cole Porter,
Irving Berlin, Ira Gershwin, Lorenz Hart, Dorothy Fields, Johnny Mercer,
Frank Loesser, and a host of others. Each set is sprinkled with anecdotal
patter and trivia about the songwriters that propelled the evolution of the
Broadway musical into the Swing Years and beyond. Come out and hear the
multitude of ways to say "I Love You"!
"light , sassy and fun." -Jazz Steps Magazine

Dina Blade lives in Seattle, Washington and performs regularly at jazz clubs, schools, libraries and festivals in the Northwest. She has done extensive outreach with musical programs designed to educate and entertain
audiences of all ages. An irresistible and effervescent performer, Dina has performed and toured in The U.S., Canada, Cuba and Brazil. Her one-woman show "Ya Gotta Wannit" is a celebration of the elements that influenced Dina's artistry as a jazz vocalist, guitarist and tap dancer. She has recorded four cds of jazz standards:"S'Wonderful", "I'm in the Mood for Love", "My Romance", and the most recent: "Sentimental Journey".
Hans Brehmer has been performing for more than twenty five years in the Pacific Northwest. A pianist, singer, songwriter, arranger, and singer, he has also worked as an accompanist for the jazz vocal department at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. Hans considers accompanying singers to be an art form with its own unique demands, and has been working with Dina for 7 years.
