Other Info
“Songs and Stories from World War Two” is an intergenerational concert suitable for all ages. This hour long program features a repertoire of popular songs from WWII with vocals and piano accompaniment, including one narrator/storyteller who is an 89 year old WWII veteran. Vintage US Army military uniforms are worn in the show. The narrator/storyteller, Ray Puddicomb, is an elder WW2 veteran and actor, who speaks throughout the program about his wartime experiences. Before, during and after the presentation, he displays his memorabilia, including: dog tags, military uniforms, photos, letters, train schedules/tickets, a Nazi flag, armband and helmet, and other items of interest. Mr. Puddicomb is a Seattle resident who served as a soldier on the German Front Line during the Rhineland Campaign of 1944. Topics covered will include anecdotes about the draft, soldier life, films, radio, railroads and returning home to the Northwest, and of course, music of the WWII era.
